Dublin is a very small town on Hy40 barely inside the western edge of Wayne county, and 49 miles east of Indianapolis. It has a population of about 800 and is not much more than a half mile across. It has a good number of old Federal houses for it's size.
We'll start the tour at Davis street near the center of town and head east on the north side of Hy40. We will then return to Davis street and do the same along the south side of the street.
Old Brick Federal House
This old federal brick home sits on the northwest corner of Hy40 and Davis street. The addresses in Dublin are an extension of Cambridge City which doesn't make sense to me so I will refrain from giving any of them.
Old Federal Commercial Building
This building is on the northeast corner of Hy40 and Davis street. Perhaps it was originally an inn. This morning view is looking to the northeast.
Federal Commercial Building
Another view of the building looking to the northwest in the afternoon. These photos of Dublin except for the last one were taken May 29, 2010.
A Small One Story Federal House
Continuing east a short way is this small home of which I see very few of. Looking northeast.
Two Story Brick Federal House
This fine two story brick Federal house sits next to the one shown above. Looking northeast.
Two Story Brick Federal House
Another view of the house looking northwest.
Two Story Federal House
This nice home is located on the northeast corner Hy40 and Milton Street. Looking northeast.
Two Story Federal House
Another of the house looking northwest.
Federal Styled Commercial Building
We are back at Hy40 and Davis street and this old two story brick building is on the southeast corner. Looking southeast, the post office is to the left.
Federal Double Residence
A nice double residence, wish I could have captured the side. Looking to the southwest.
